Xiaomi 16 leaks – News
As the next wave of flagship launches approaches, fresh leaks are giving us a sneak peek at what’s in store—starting with the Xiaomi 16. Well-known leaker Ice Universe has shared renders that highlight its front design, and the spotlight is firmly on bezels, corners, and overall visual appeal.
The Xiaomi 16 series, expected to launch in late September 2025, appears to be pushing smartphone design to new limits. Thanks to LIPO technology, Xiaomi has reportedly shaved the bezels down to what could be the thinnest ever seen on a phone. The renders also reveal a smaller punch-hole selfie camera and extremely rounded corners—so rounded, in fact, that the leaker calls them “the roundest corners in smartphone history.” This softer, more fluid design marks a noticeable departure from the sharper edges of Apple’s iPhones, hinting at a fresh chapter in Xiaomi’s design philosophy. Battery details for the base, Pro, and Pro Max variants have also surfaced, adding more fuel to the excitement.
On the other side, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is gearing up for a January 2026 launch. Early CAD-based renders and dummy units suggest Samsung is also softening the Ultra’s famously boxy profile, though not nearly as aggressively as Xiaomi. Its bezels are slimmer than the S25 Ultra’s but still not as razor-thin as those teased for the Xiaomi 16. When placed side by side, Samsung’s design feels more angular and familiar, retaining its Ultra identity while slightly improving comfort in the hand.
Both brands appear to be focusing on how displays look and feel in everyday use. Xiaomi is chasing the dream of a nearly bezel-less smartphone, while Samsung appears to be gradually stepping away from its iconic Note-inspired look. Social media reactions are already split—some love Samsung’s subtle refinements, while others see Xiaomi’s daring redesign as the bigger leap forward.
With the Xiaomi 16 series just weeks away and the Galaxy S26 Ultra set to follow shortly after, the end of 2025 and start of 2026 could bring one of the most exciting design rivalries in years.
