Motorola Refreshes Its Moto G and Moto G Play Series for 2026 with New Designs and Features

Motorola is back with refreshed versions of its popular Moto G and Moto G Play smartphones for 2026 — both continuing the brand’s tradition of delivering reliable budget devices with stylish looks and useful upgrades.

The new models feature 6.7-inch displays with 120Hz refresh rates and up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, providing a smoother and brighter viewing experience. The Moto G is equipped with a 50MP main camera and a 32MP selfie shooter, while the Moto G Play features a 32MP main camera and an 8MP front camera. Both use quad pixel technology for sharper, more detailed photos, even in challenging lighting conditions.

Battery life remains a strong point — each phone packs a 5,200mAh battery, with 30W fast charging on the Moto G and 18W on the Moto G Play. Both devices feature Gorilla Glass 3 protection and an IP52 water resistance rating, making them durable enough for everyday use.

On the design front, Motorola has partnered with Pantone to introduce some eye-catching, leather-inspired finishes. The Moto G comes in Slipstream Gray and Cattleya Orchid (purple), while the Moto G Play gets a classy Pantone Tapestry Blue option.

Pricing remains wallet-friendly — the Moto G starts at $200, launching directly on Motorola’s website on December 11, with Amazon and Best Buy availability from January 15. The Moto G Play, priced at $170, will go on sale on November 13 online via Motorola, Best Buy, and Amazon, and is expected to hit retail stores shortly after.

With these updates, Motorola continues to refine its formula — combining practical specs, fresh design, and affordability that keeps the Moto G lineup a fan favorite in the budget smartphone segment.
