The race for the thinnest flagship phone is intensifying, with Apple and Samsung leading the charge. Apple has dropped the “17” tag for its newest slim model, simply calling it the iPhone Air. It’s a sleek, ultra-light device designed for those who value portability and elegance.

On the other side, Samsung has the Galaxy S25 Edge—a slim yet powerful Android phone packed with bold design choices and cutting-edge hardware. Both phones aim at premium buyers, but they take slightly different paths when it comes to design, cameras, performance, and AI features.

If you’re torn between iOS simplicity and Android customization, this comparison will help you figure out which one fits your lifestyle better.

    Design & Build

The iPhone Air is slimmer at just 5.64 mm, with a titanium frame and Ceramic Shield 2 glass that resists scratches and fingerprints. Samsung’s S25 Edge is slightly thicker at 5.8 mm but manages to fit a bigger battery and extra camera. Both phones are IP68 water-resistant.

Verdict: iPhone Air wins on slimness, but the S25 Edge balances design with practicality.

    Display

Apple’s 6.5-inch Super Retina OLED pushes brightness up to 3,000 nits with an anti-reflective layer for outdoor use. Samsung counters with a bigger 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED, famous for its sharpness and immersive curved edges.

Verdict: iPhone Air is brighter, but the S25 Edge looks more immersive.

    Performance

The iPhone Air runs on the A19 Pro chip, tuned for efficiency with iOS 26. The Galaxy S25 Edge packs Snapdragon 8 Elite with 12GB RAM and vapor cooling for heavy gaming and AI tasks.

Verdict: iPhone Air may edge out in raw speed, but Samsung offers better sustained performance.

    Cameras

    • iPhone Air: 48MP main + new 18MP front camera with Center Stage, perfect for selfies and video calls.

    • Galaxy S25 Edge: 200MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 32MP selfie cam, offering more versatility with wide and macro shots.

Verdict: iPhone Air is great for video calls and selfies, but Samsung clearly wins in flexibility and detail.

    Battery & Charging

    • iPhone Air: 3149 mAh, 20W wired, 20W MagSafe.

    • Galaxy S25 Edge: 3900 mAh, 25W wired, 15W wireless.

Verdict: Samsung wins here with a bigger battery and faster charging.

    Price Comparison

    • iPhone Air: From $999 (US) / ₹1,19,900 (India)

    • Galaxy S25 Edge: From $1,099 (US) / ₹1,09,999 (India)

Verdict: In the US, iPhone Air is cheaper. In India, the Galaxy S25 Edge offers better value.

    Final Take

If you love slim, lightweight phones with iOS polish and a great selfie camera, the iPhone Air makes sense. But if you want a bigger battery, more versatile cameras, stereo speakers, and better value in India, the Galaxy S25 Edge is the smarter choice.
