Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Tipped to Break AnTuTu Records Ahead of Launch
Qualcomm is preparing to host its Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii later this month, where the company is expected to announce its most powerful chipset yet — the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Previously referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, the upcoming SoC was already rumored to deliver a 20–30% jump in single-core Geekbench scores and a 10–15% boost in multi-core compared to its predecessor. But fresh leaks suggest the performance leap may be far greater, especially on AnTuTu benchmarks.

According to new reports from China, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 could score between 4.2 million and 4.4 million points on AnTuTu v11, smashing past current records. For reference, the Red Magic 10 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite averages around 2.67 million on AnTuTu v10. That’s nearly a 58% performance increase if the new figures hold.
The chip’s main rival will be MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, which recently hit around 4 million points on the same test. That means Qualcomm’s flagship could edge out MediaTek’s contender by 5–10% in raw benchmark numbers.

Of course, benchmark results between AnTuTu v10 and v11 aren’t directly comparable, so we’ll need to wait for real-world tests. Still, this leak hints at a huge jump in performance, setting the stage for some of the most powerful Android flagships we’ve seen yet.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to debut inside upcoming devices from brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung, and iQOO, kicking off a new wave of next-gen smartphones by the end of 2025.
