Editor’s Notes
Today’s puzzle had a playful mix of cultural and linguistic clues. The “BUTCHER, BAKER, CANDLESTICK MAKER” nod was a clever callback, while the Clue weapons were a quick solve for many. The blue group of soul singers (Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack, Anita Baker, and Gladys Knight) was especially fun to uncover.
The purple “Rain” group tripped up some players — “Raincoat” and “Rainforest” were easy connections, but “Rainmaker” tied it all together nicely.
