Meizu has officially announced that its next flagship, the Meizu 22, will launch in China on September 15, with the event taking place at its headquarters in Zhuhai. Alongside the phone, the company is expected to unveil some new ecosystem products. After months of anticipation, the brand has now lifted the curtain on the phone’s design and some key specs.
Display
The Meizu 22 sports a 6.32-inch display—a size Meizu calls the perfect balance between compact feel and immersive viewing. Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform, specially tuned to deliver stable gaming performance. Meizu also touts its AI-driven One Mind optimization system, alongside TÜV Rheinland’s 72-month fluency certification and an S-grade rating for smooth gameplay. One of the standout features is the large 4,500mm² vapor chamber cooling system, which keeps things running cool even during intense sessions.
Camera
Camera-wise, the front packs a 50MP OmniVision OV50D shooter, while the rear hosts a versatile triple-camera setup: a 50MP OmniVision OV50H main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera (also OIS-enabled), and a 50MP OmniVision OV50D ultrawide lens. The phone also offers AI-powered imaging tools like one-click filter extraction, letting users add stylish effects with ease.
Design
Design hasn’t been overlooked either. The Meizu 22 weighs 190 grams and measures just 8.15mm thick, with a width of 71mm for a comfortable grip. It features a 2.5D slightly curved front display and a 3D curved back, creating a balanced and pleasant feel in the hand. The device features a floating back cover design, maintaining a symmetrical look with uniform 0.8mm bezels all around, and stands out as one of the few flagships with a white bezel panel.
Stay tuned for more updates as the September 15 launch approaches!
