Fitbit Isn’t Dead After All — Google Promises New Fitness Devices in 2026

After months of silence and rumors of Fitbit’s end, Google has officially confirmed that new Fitbit devices are coming in 2026 — bringing a wave of excitement back to fitness tracker fans.

In a statement to 9to5Google, the company revealed it will be “launching new Fitbit hardware next year,” though it hasn’t specified which models will return. The announcement ends speculation that Google had completely shifted its focus to the Pixel Watch lineup.

A Fresh Start for Fitbit Fans

Since acquiring Fitbit in 2021, Google has mostly spotlighted the Pixel Watch series, leaving Fitbit enthusiasts wondering if their favorite lightweight trackers were gone for good.
But this latest update suggests Google isn’t abandoning the fitness-focused brand — instead, it’s planning a revival for users who prefer slim, all-day wearables over bulky smartwatches.

What Could Be Coming Next Year?

The last Fitbit tracker to launch was the Fitbit Charge 6 (2023), following the Inspire 3 (2022) and the Fitbit Luxe (2021).
If trends continue, 2026 might bring successors like the Charge 7 or Inspire 4, possibly with deeper Google Health integration, AI-driven wellness insights, and better battery life.

Analysts also suggest that Google could explore screenless fitness bands, similar to the Whoop or Polar Loop — ideal for athletes who want comfort and detailed tracking through the Fitbit app.

    Why This Matters

Lightweight trackers remain essential for those who want accurate health monitoring without the distractions of a smartwatch. With Google’s AI tech and Fitbit’s fitness expertise, next year’s lineup could redefine what compact wearables can do.

For now, Google’s official word is simple:
👉 “An exciting year ahead for Fitbit fans.”

That’s enough to keep the community buzzing — and 2026 might be the comeback Fitbit deserves.
