Disney+ Launches HDR10+ Streaming — Exclusively on Samsung TVs
Disney+ has officially started streaming movies and shows in HDR10+, and Samsung TVs are the first to support it. The new format promises deeper contrast, brighter highlights, and more lifelike colors — giving viewers a more immersive and dynamic home theater experience.
What’s New: HDR10+ Arrives on Disney+ and Hulu Titles
Samsung Electronics announced that over 1,000 Hulu titles are now available in HDR10+ on the Disney+ app, with additional Disney+ and Hulu content to follow soon. The rollout makes Disney+ the latest major streaming platform to embrace HDR10+, joining Netflix, Prime Video, and Apple TV+.
“HDR10+ revolutionizes the way we enjoy content, offering enhanced contrast and more vivid colors for an unparalleled viewing experience,” said Inbeom Kim, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
Why It Matters: The HDR Battle — HDR10+ vs Dolby Vision
HDR10+ is an advanced high dynamic range (HDR) format that uses dynamic metadata to adjust brightness, contrast, and color levels scene-by-scene, preserving the creator’s intent more accurately than traditional HDR10.
While Dolby Vision offers 12-bit color and broader adoption, HDR10+ is open and royalty-free — and it’s the default choice for Samsung TVs, which famously don’t support Dolby Vision.
With Disney+ now adding HDR10+, the platform becomes far more appealing to Samsung users, who make up a huge share of the global TV market.

Disney+, Samsung, and the Future of AI-Powered Viewing
Beyond HDR, Samsung’s 2025 lineup integrates Vision AI, enhancing both video and audio quality in real-time. The Vision AI Companion adds smart capabilities such as real-time subtitle translation and interactive voice assistance — all powered by partnerships with Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity AI.
These features position Samsung as a frontrunner in the smart entertainment era, blending AI personalization with advanced display technology.
A Win for Viewers
This collaboration is a strategic win for both Disney and Samsung. Disney+ gains improved visual quality across its vast catalog, while Samsung users finally get HDR10+ streaming from one of the world’s top platforms — closing the gap between HDR10+ and Dolby Vision ecosystems.
Bottom line:
If you own a Samsung TV from 2018 or later, you can now experience Disney+ and Hulu content with richer contrast, deeper blacks, and stunning HDR realism — no premium plan upgrade required.
