Prototype Hints & Chipset
The leak suggests that a major smartphone brand is currently testing its Ultra-branded flagship powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. While the device is still in its engineering prototype phase, the specs align closely with what’s expected from the Vivo X300 Ultra, rumored to launch in the first half of 2026.
Primary Camera – Sony IMX09E Digital Chat Station further revealed that the Sony IMX09E sensor will serve as the main camera. Built on a 22nm process, it measures 1/1.12 inches with 0.7μm pixels. The sensor supports Hybrid Frame-HDR (DCG+VS), improved low-light capture, and a dynamic range of over 100dB. It supports 2x and 4x lossless zoom with full-pixel fusion and uses a 16-channel 2×2 OCL system to deliver accurate focus and crisp image quality.
Ultra-Wide Camera – Sony LYT-828 The Sony LYT-828
expected to handle ultra-wide photography on the X300 Ultra. Interestingly, this same sensor is tipped to be the primary shooter on the Vivo X300 Pro. Well-known tipster Smart Pikachu has also backed this claim, strengthening the rumor.
Periscope Telephoto – 200MP Power
The third sensor will reportedly be a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, possibly using Samsung’s HPB sensor, which could also find its way into the X300 Pro. This could make the Ultra a true beast in long-distance photography.
Selfie Camera
On the front, the entire Vivo X300 lineup, including the Ultra, is said to pack a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and a 92° field of view (FOV)—a solid upgrade for selfie enthusiasts.
