8BitDo Celebrates 40 Years of NES with Special Retro-Inspired Gear
To mark the 40th anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System’s US debut, 8BitDo has launched a nostalgic line of NES-themed accessories. The NES40 collection features a limited-edition Ultimate 2 controller, a Retro 68 mechanical keyboard, and the Retro Cube 2 Bluetooth speaker — all designed with a retro flair and modern functionality.
The Ultimate 2 NES 40th Limited Edition controller ($80) includes an NES Retro Receiver, which allows it to connect to the original NES console, along with TMR joysticks, Hall Effect triggers, customizable joystick caps, and a collectible R.O.B. keychain. Compatible with Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Windows, and the NES, the controller is set to ship on November 18.

The Retro 68 Keyboard ($500) is 8BitDo’s first 68-key keyboard, crafted entirely from aluminum alloy, including keycaps and buttons. Equipped with Kailh Box Ice Cream Pro Max switches, dual wireless Super Buttons, and a 6500mAh battery for up to 300 hours of use, it features the classic NES colorway and will ship in January 2026.
The Retro Cube 2 Speaker ($50) offers improved battery life and versatility with Bluetooth, 2.4G wireless, and USB connections. The 2000mAh battery provides up to 30 hours of playtime, and D-pad controls allow easy adjustments for volume, playback, and pairing. This speaker is set to ship on December 12.
